The Dubai Mall hosts a series of Motivational Talks for the community

Part of ‘International Women’s Month’, the breakfast series touches upon topics relevant to the modern woman

For the next two weeks, The Dubai Mall is hosting a series of Motivational Talks which are open to the
public. The series, which are held over a casual breakfast setting at various locations in the mall, will
feature stories of success and personal achievements from inspiring individuals from the community,
including artists and entrepreneurs.
Visitors are encouraged to attend and take part in the community sessions, as the speakers discuss
juggling work-life balance, motherhood, journeys to success, and gender balance and inclusion.

Monday, March 19 – 11am to 12noon, Vogue Café (Ground Floor, Level Shoe District)
Artist Linda Hollier creates art using her iPhone, and is considered a pioneer in the revolutionary mobile
art movement. In this talk, Linda will discuss ‘Stories waiting to unfold’ focusing on the importance of
interconnectedness and encouraging women to trust their intuitive creativity.

Tuesday, March 20th – 11am to 3pm, Milas Restaurant (Ground Floor)
Join leaders from Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI) including Sass Brown, Dean; Lucy
Ziegler, DIDI faculty and Google glass designer; and Mitch Sinclair, IDEO Senior Design Director and
Palmwood Creative Director as they each give inspiring talks on design for change.

Wednesday, March 21st – 10am to 12noon, 3rd Avenue Café (First Floor)
Nayla Al Khaja is the first Film Director/Producer in the UAE and CEO of Nayla Al Khaja films and
Founder of The Scene Club. Her films have been presented and awarded at film festivals regionally and

Thursday, March 22nd – 11am to 12noon, Paul Café (Ground Floor)
Photographer, Writer and Electrical Engineer, Abdulla Al Wahedi, will share his views on ‘Balancing
female empowerment and cultural traditions’.

Monday, March 26th – 11am to 12noon, Eat Greek (Lower Ground Floor)
Stephanie Roberts, is the author of the children’s book Thiago’s Shell, which deals with common
challenges kids often encounter, such as shyness. Stephanie is an advocate for the effects of positive
psychology on the child’s mind and will be talking about ‘Finding inspiration as a mother’.

Tuesday, March 27th – 11am to 12:30pm, Ladurée (First Floor)
Megan French is the VP of Marketing for, a social enterprise she built to help improve the
human condition and serve humanity. Her discussion ‘My journey to happiness’ will touch upon her 20-
year journey as a mother of twins, corporate executive and business owner.

Wednesday, March 28th – 10am to 12noon, Awani (Second Floor)
Dr. Reem El Mutwalli is a published scholar and private consultant in Islamic architecture, interior
design, Islamic and Arab art and UAE heritage and will be talking about the evolution of women’s
traditional wear.
